Well done everybody!
Success for
St Lawrence School!
RJ&HS - We have again won the Schools small garden competition. The judges were very impressed with our displays and the involvement of the children. Most of the flowers have been grown from seed in our poly tunnel, pricked out and then cared for in our greenhouse. The children then planted their own class areas in Mrs Mooney's garden. We also had to weed and maintain the borders under Mr Cloarec's guidance.
JFTU - We also won the Carrots competition with 3 fine specimens - the first time we've entered this competition. The seeds were planted with the help of the JFTU staff in a bucket during an assembly. The bucket has then been watered and fed in the greenhouse.
- We were presented with a Highly Commended certificate for our wheelbarrow of vegetables grown in our vegetable patch. Unfortunately, most of our veg is still in the ground as it wasn't ready! The other schools better watch out next time!
We've had lots of fun entering these competitions. Photos and report in the JEP this week.
